Hi There!

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR

Leanne Thiessen is a Métis Canadian Illustrator living on a 7 acre homestead in the Manitoba prairies, where she spends much of her time raising her family, tending to the gardens, growing flowers, and baking sourdough. A mother of four children, her illustrations are often created with Littles running around or drawing right beside her. Her passion for art stems from a very young age, a childhood filled with camping, canoeing, loving and respecting the outdoors – where she draws much of her inspiration from.  Her illustrations aim to amplify the beauty in things with simplicity, and often have a nostalgic, whimsical edge.

Her line of illustrated cards were most recently distributed by Paper E Clips, and sold in retail shops across North America. Leanne closed Paper Canoe in the summer of 2022, so she could focus more on freelance illustration and Children's Books.
